Hazel M Newton

Mrs. Hazel Newton, age 83, of Shepherdsville, KY, passed away on Friday, May 22, 2026. She was born in Morgantown, KY, on December 4, 1942, to the late Jessie and Lily “Beasley” Dockery. Hazel loved camping and being outdoors. She also loved cooking for fun and for others. Hazel loved most creating memories and spending time with her family. She will truly be missed by all who knew her.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband, John Newton; parents; and siblings, James Dockery, Charles Dockery, Ralph Dockery and Alice Coy.

She is survived by her sons, Timmy (Marissa), Steven (Carol) and Keith; daughter, Tonia (Joe); 16 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; brothers, Wendell Dockery and Joe Dockery (Patty); and a host of other family and friends.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, May 28, 2026, in the chapel of Hardy-Close Funeral Home (285 South Buckman Street, Shepherdsville Kentucky, 40165) with burial to follow at Mt. Eden Cemetery. Friends and family may pay their respects on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm and on Thursday from 9:00 am until the time of service at the funeral home.
