John Raymond Gilbert

    Mr. John Raymond Gilbert, age 89, of Shepherdsville, KY returned to his Heavenly Father on Saturday, June 18, 2022. He was born on Tuesday, March 14, 1933, to the late Huey and Dora Gilbert. Raymond was a member of Hebron Lane Church of Christ. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and time with his family. He was also preceded in death by his son, John David Gilbert and a grandson Brian Luckett.   

   He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 70 years, Delora Gilbert; his children, Regina Penick (Paul), Tim Gilbert (Brenda), Alice Gilbert and Belinda Bostic (Darryl); his siblings, Don Gilbert (Sissy), Dan Gilbert, Noreen Gilbert and Betty Rash; his grandson, Keith Gilbert (Kristy); his granddaughter, Kayla Gilbert; his great grandchildren, Logan, Morgan and Ivory; along with a host of other family and friends.

   Funeral service will be conducted at 2 pm on Wednesday, June 22, 2022, in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Highway at Brooks Road) with burial to follow at Brookland Cemetery.  Friends may pay their respects on Wednesday, June 22, 2022, from 10 am until the time of service at 2 pm.
