Kenneth J. Gardner

Kenneth J. Gardner age 77 was born December 15, 1935 to the late James and Angelina Berns Gardner in Fayette City, Pennsylvania and returned to his Heavenly Father April 22, 2013. Mr. Gardner was a retired U.S. Army veteran serving in the Korean and Vietnam wars. A member of the Veterans of Foreign War Okolona Post 8639 and the National Rifle Association.

Among those who preceded him in death include his parents; loving wife of 36 years, Christina van der Kooi Gardner and his daughter, Norma J. Fenwick.

He is survived by his children, H. Yvonne Gardner, George H. Gardner, Kathryn L. Graves and Bonita A. Heslin (Frank); his best friend, Don Ritchey; seven grandchildren, six great grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.

Funeral service will be held 2 P.M. Wednesday at Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks (Preston Highway at Brooks Road) with military honors. Interment will be in Christian Chapel Cemetery in Grayson County, Kentucky. Friends may pay their respects from 11 A.M. until 2 P.M. and again after the funeral service Wednesday at Schoppenhorst.
