

“Deacon Ken” Ward, age 82, died peacefully surrounded by family, November 2, 2018. He was born on February 4, 1936 in Florida to the late Martin Ward and Marie (Reidmiller) Ward. He was a retired Permanent Deacon where he served various parishes, before retiring as Pastoral Associate at St. Martha Parish. He will be remembered for his love of Nascar and Dale, Jr. He was a great Father to his four daughters and loved his late wife, Pat, dearly as well as all his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Ward; brother, Robert Ward; mother in law, Willia Mae Vetter; and Terry Barnes.
He leaves to cherish his memory his daughters, Wendy Schneider, Cammy Reagan, Tammy Shoulders, Kelly Haverly; grandchildren, Stephanie, Melissa, Brian, Terry, Kevin, Lauren, Steven, Marti, Christopher; 18 great grandchildren; and sister in law, Ruby Wray and a host of loving family and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 6, 2018, at 5:00 in the chapel of Schoppenhorst Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy at Brooks Rd.) followed by cremation. Friends may pay their respect on Tuesday from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm at the funeral home.
An additional memorial service will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at St. Bernard Catholic Church (7500 Tangelo Dr.).
