Larry Ray Washburn

Larry Ray Washburn, age 74, of Jeffersontown returned to his Heavenly Father on Thursday, November 14, 2024, due to complications of small bowel obstruction. He was born on February 23, 1950, in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Woodson and Lillian (Stuckenberg) Washburn. Larry was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed long lunches with his friends at the bar. Larry was described as a little rough around the edges, but he had a big heart and would help anyone who needed his help. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Eddie Washburn.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 29 years, Margie Washburn; son, Chad Washburn (Theresa); grandchildren, James Miller (Leah), Shera Muscovalley (Derek), Jake Miller, Tori Washburn, Jacob Washburn, Ryan Washburn and Alex Washburn; 8 great-grandchildren and one on the way; brother, Ron Washburn (Wanda); sister, Pam Francis and a host of other family and friends.

Funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at 7 pm in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood & Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.) with cremation to follow. Friends and family may pay their respects on Saturday, November 23, 2024, from 1 pm until the time of the service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Kentucky Humane Society in honor of Larry are greatly appreciated.
