Louise Bailey Basham

Mrs. Louise B. Basham, age 93 of Fairdale, returned to her Heavenly Father on January 15, 2020.   Mrs. Basham was born in Perry Co., Kentucky on November 28, 1926 to the late Elijah and Viola (Hurt) Bailey. She was a woman of strong faith who dedicated her life to the Lord and her husband and family. Mrs. Basham worked at Winn-Dixie for over 40 years and served her church faithfully. Her beloved cat was more than just a cat, Tinker was Family.  She loved her family dearly especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Mrs. Basham will be greatly missed. 

Among those preceding her in death are her Parents; her husband, Pastor James Basham (Okolona General Baptist Church); son, Ronnie Basham; sisters, Jackie Raymer and JoAnn Nasser; and brother Ronnie Bailey.

Mrs. Basham leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Judy Lilly (Dale), Sharon Houk, Jason Basham (Julie) and Jesse Basham. She was also blessed with a legacy of numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; brothers, Lonnie Collins, Eli Bailey and Larry Bailey; a loving church family; and a host of other dear family and friends.

Funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm on Monday, January 20, 2020 in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.) with burial in Louisville Memorial Gardens West to follow.  Friends may pay their respects on Sunday from 1:00 pm until 8:00 pm and on Monday from 10:00 am until time of service at the funeral home.
