Marie Grace McCarthy

Marie Grace McCarthy, age 87, of Louisville, Kentucky returned to her Heavenly Father on Monday, October 13, 2025, with loving family by her side. She was born on March 27, 1938, in Bronx, New York to the late John and Lena (DeCrescenzo) Marini. Marie was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton church. She joined many groups throughout her life. Marie was a huge fan of the New York Mets baseball team and the New York Giants football team. She enjoyed playing the lottery and scratch-off games. Her move to Kentucky found her forming a special relationship with her “church family”. Marie was a wonderful cook who loved cooking for friends and family in Lake Carmel, New York and Monroe, Connecticut. Her family fondly remembers her lasagna recipe which was handed down from generation to generation. Marie’s true passion was her family; spending time and making memories with them was what she held most dear to her heart. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jeremiah McCarthy; sisters, Rose, Dorothy and Emily; brother, John and niece, Linda.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Mary Ellen Sant (Paul) and Allison McCarthy (Michael); grandchildren, Jeremy (Susan), Maggie (Jason) and Amanda; great-grandson, Dylan; several nieces and nephews; lifelong friend, Honey and a host of family and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted on Friday, October 17, 2025, at 12:00 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. Family and friends may pay their respects on Thursday, October 16, 2025, from 1:00 until 8:00 at Schoppenhorst, Underwood & Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.).
