Nancy Sheryl Anderson

Mrs. Nancy S. Anderson, age 71, of Louisville, KY, passed away on Wednesday January 5, 2022. Nancy was born in Louisville, KY on October 14, 1950, to the late William Clifford Vaughn Sr., and Gladys (Faith) Anderson. Nancy was employed as an administrative assistant with Intex and Spalding University. With her love of animals, she enjoyed swimming with the manatees and taking care/watching of her fishpond. She treasured her times traveling to Hawaii and spending many hours outdoors with her flowers. She had a great passion for soccer and growing it within the Louisville community. Nancy became involved with Okolona Soccer Club through her children in 1984 serving in multiple capacities such as fundraising, coaching, referee assigning, picnics, haunted houses for many years. She became involved with the Greater Louisville Men's Soccer League as an assistant coach in 1987 which led to coaching her own men's team and taking on the duties of the Registrar for the Men’s league.

 Nancy worked with numerous Derby Festival Soccer Tournaments and coached the Reserve Team for the Okolona Soccer Club Mavericks in the men's premier division. She was Treasurer of Greater Louisville Soccer League as well as organizing, coaching and managing the Adult Co-Recreational Soccer League at OSC. Nancy was appointed as the Region II Women's Select Team Administrator for the United States Amateur Soccer Association and served for seven years in that capacity. However, the most important part of her life was spending time with her family that she loved deeply. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Gregory Scott Anderson, and one brother, William C. Vaughn, Jr.

Nancy leaves behind her husband of 46 years William S. Anderson, son Daniel Anderson (Jennifer), four grandchildren Trenton Anderson, Logan Anderson, Samuel Anderson, and Zachary Anderson; one sister, Judith Webb (Robert), along with a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

 Visitation will be held on Monday, January 10, 2022, from 2: 00 pm until 6:00 pm. At (Schoppenhorst Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home, 4895 N. Preston Highway). Her funeral service will start at 6:30 pm in the chapel. Burial will be held on a later date.
