Patty Jean Howard Cox

Ms. Patty Jean Howard Cox, age 73, of the Highlands returned to her Heavenly Father on August 4, 2014. Ms. Cox retired from the Jefferson County Public School system and was a former resident of Ormsby Village Orphanage. Among those that preceded her in death include her parents, Mitchell and Altie Howard; and brother, Larry Howard.

She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Clentin Cox (Annette), Quentin Cox (Vince), Mar-Shel Daniels, Angela Cox O'Bryan and Lisa Peyton (Todd); grandchildren, Glenn Haggard (Gina), Jennifer Nero (Larry), Nathaniel Daniels, Jessica Routt (Eric), Patty Ceiga (Patrick), Alison Hines (Robert), Michaela, Dalton, Hunter and Jonas Cox; 8 great-grandchildren; brothers, Virgil and Jerry Howard; and former spouse, Hershel Cox.

Funeral service will be conducted at noon on Thursday, August 7, 2014 at Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Highway at Brooks Road: use John Harper entrance) with interment in Resthaven Memorial Park. Friends may pay their respects on Wednesday from 1-8 pm and Thursday from 9 am until time of service at Schoppenhorst. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
