Paul Watkins

Mr. Paul E. Watkins, age 78, of Shepherdsville, returned to his Heavenly Father on Sunday, November 6, 2022. He was born on October 19, 1944 in Louisville, Kentucky. Mr. Watkins was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps along with a member of numerous other organizations. He was the Bullitt County Jailor for the past 4 years. Mr. Watkins is preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Dorthey Watkins; daughters, Amy Gaw and Angela Jarboe.

Paul was someone who was bigger than life. He was a gentle giant who would give you the clothes off his back to make sure you were well taken care of. He loved to joke but still kept his diligent, hard-working demeanor. If you knew Paul, you would know that he loved spending time with his friends and traveling on the weekends. He was also a very avid UofL fan. Paul will be missed by those who knew and cared about him.

He is survived by his fiancé Elizabeth Collins; sister, Nancy Walsh (Willie); brother, Dale Watkins (Romona); friend, Mark Williams; four grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends. 

Family and friends may pay their respects on Friday, November 11, 2022 at 11 am untill 8 pm. Funeral services will be held at Schoppenhorst Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy at Brooks Rd.) with cremation to follow.
