Peggy Browne

Peggy Joan Dortch Browne, age 84, of Louisville, passed away July 16, 2024, peacefully at her home. Mrs. Browne was born in Knob, AR on June 06, 1940, to the late Lonnie and Chloe (Dodd) Dortch. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Robert Browne, her parents, her brothers Billy and Jacky Dortch, a daughter Arista Peggy, and a grandson Sean Jacob.

Peggy graduated from Knobel High School in 1958. After graduation she moved to St. Louis, MO where she met her husband, Robert Browne. They moved to Louisville, KY in 1965 and became devoted University of Kentucky fans. Peggy loved to travel. She loved animals, especially her fur babies. She was artistic and enjoyed arts and crafts.

She is survived by her partner Noel Westlind, her sons Mark, Kevin (Florence), Creg (Lisa) Browne and daughter Tamatha (Eric) Baker. Her grandchildren Leighana (Casey), Briana (Scott), Kate (Dillon), Christopher, Cody (Ashley), Amelia (Jordon), Ashley; and 11 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at the in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home-Mt. Washington (Hwy. 44 East at 123 Winning Colors Drive) at 6:00pm on Saturday, July 20, 2024, with cremation to follow. Family and friends may pay their respects on Saturday, July 20, 2024, from 12:00pm – 6:00pm.
