Peggy Kay Williams

Mrs. Peggy Kay (Hawkins) Williams, age 77, of Fern Creek returned to her Heavenly Father on February 11, 2022. Mrs. Williams was born on August 29, 1944, in Jamestown, KY to the late Owen and Erma (Collins) Hawkins. She worked in sales for Rhodes Furniture and later retired from JCPenney. She was a member of Long Run Baptist Church. Among those that preceded her in death are her parents, son, Stephen Reid; brother, Murllin Collins; and sisters, Margaret Vaughn, Irene Bagshaw, JoAnn Bridges, and Janice Loafman.

She leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband of 50 ½ years, John Williams; children, Lisa McGrew (Gregg), Michael Williams, Monika Cody and Chris Bensen (Stuart); grandchildren, Brandon, Meghan, Mandy, Heather, Mackensie, Trevor, Mallory, Trisha, and Tammy; and great-grandchildren, Cameren, Katelyn, Beau, Lilly, Patrick, and Brielle.

Funeral service will be conducted at 6 pm on Wednesday, February 16, 2022, in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Highway at Brooks Road) with cremation to follow. Family and friends may pay their respects on Wednesday from 2 pm until time of service at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may be made to St. Jude’s Children Hospital.
