Raymond "Ray" Lynn Ferguson

Raymond "Ray" Lynn Ferguson, age 81, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, and brother passed away on Wednesday, March 19, 2025. He was born on October 18, 1943, to the late Willard D. Ferguson and Nellie Mae Ferguson. He retired from Alltel Telephone Company after 32 years. He will be dearly missed by everyone who knew him. He loved being outdoors, working in his yard, and playing golf. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Among those that preceded him in death are his granddaughter, Breanna Marie Ferguson, his parents, and brother, Wayne D. Ferguson.

Raymond leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 53 years, Carol; daughter, Melissa Ferguson (Erik); son, Chris Ferguson (Jennifer); grandsons, Chase Ferguson and Jordan Ferguson; sisters, Freida Humphreys and Ruth Creason (C.L.); brothers, Gerald Ferguson and Aaron Ferguson (Carla); sister-in-law, Linda Ferguson, and many other family and friends.  He will be greatly missed by his dear pet, Teddy.

Funeral service will be conducted at 2 pm on Tuesday, April 01, 2025, in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Highway at Brooks Road) with interment in Brookland Cemetery. Family and friends may pay their respects on Monday from 1-8 pm and Tuesday from 10 am until the time of the service at the funeral home.
