Sara "Smiles" Denise Miles

Sara “Smiles” Denise Miles, age 37, of Shepherdsville, Kentucky, returned to her Heavenly Father on Friday, February 21, 2025. She was born on October 16, 1987, in Louisville, Kentucky to Dawn (Wilt) Adams and Gerald Miles. Sara was a strong-willed independent lady who was always thinking about those she loved. She loved nature and animals and enjoyed being outside strolling through forests and splashing through creeks. Sara was a free spirit and would see others as “souls” and not just people. She loved children and even in her weakest hours she would dance and enjoy being with her loved ones, cherishing every moment she had with them. She was preceded in death by her aunt, Kellie Parker; papaw, Robert “Bob” Wilt, Sr., her grandma, Laurine Miles and her fur-baby, Xena “Beana”. 

Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Ashton Alvey and Waylon Vaughn; parents, Dawn Adams (Buell) and Gerald Miles; sister, Amanda Walden (Billy); brother, Joe “LG” Miles, III; grammy, Karol VanDeVenter; nephews, Taycen, Zane and Wilder; stepdad, Steve Lewis; life-long friends, Amanda Napper, Adair Farmer and Jessica Daniel; special friends, Elisabeth and Myla; fur-baby Janis the Cat and a host of other family and friends.

Funeral service will be conducted on Friday, February 28, 2025, at 12:00 pm in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood & Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.) with interment in Brookland Cemetery. Family and friends may pay their respects on Thursday, February 27, 2025, from 1:00 pm until 8:00 pm and on Friday, February 28, 2025, from 9:00 am until the time of the service at the funeral home.

Sara’s wishes were to celebrate her life, asking that everyone attending would wear bright, spring colors in her honor.
