Shirley Marie Barr

Shirley Marie Barr, age 89, of Fairdale, KY entered into her Heavenly reward on January 22, 2025. Shirley was born on November 9, 1935, in Louisville, KY to the late Elmer and Iona “Hutchens” Arnold. She was a Pentecostal by faith, Shirley was a good example of a loving mother and grandmother. Among those that preceded her in death are her parents; husband, Frank W. Barr, Sr.; infant son Allen Ray and infant daughter, Linda Diane her brothers, Roger Hutchens, Elmer “Butch” Arnold and Oscar Arnold; sister, Anna Arnold.

She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Frankie Barr, Jr. (Donna), Richard Barr (Nina), Stanley Barr (Cathy) and Louise Powers (Ed) and Carolyn Taylor (Les); 12 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren. She is also survived by brothers, Michael and Walter Arnold and sisters, Belle Miles and Dora Arnold; and numerous nieces and nephews.  

Funeral service will be conducted at 12 pm on Monday, January 27, 2025 in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Highway at Brooks Road) with interment in Mt. Holly Cemetery. Family and friends may pay their respects on Sunday from 1-8 pm and Monday from 10 am until time of service at the funeral home.
