William "Carlos" Lester

   Mr. William “Carlos” Lester, age 86 of Fairdale, returned to his Heavenly Father on Thursday, November 16, 2023, with loving family by his side. He was born on August 23, 1937, to the late Roy and Margaret Lester. He was an active member of Fairdale Masonic Lodge #942 and served for over 52 years. He loved hunting and nature and enjoying the outdoors, but his true passion was “Pa Church”- fellowship with family, friends and neighbors. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Velda Lester; son, William C. Lester, Jr. and 8 brothers and sisters.

   He leaves to cherish his memory his daughter, Joyce Hicks; grandsons, Brad Hicks (Andrea Cirbian) and Shaun Hicks (Nadia Islam); sisters, Helen Williamson and Carol Bolin and a host of beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

   Funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday, November 22, 2023, at 10:30 am in the chapel at Schoppenhorst, Underwood & Brooks Funeral Home (4895 N. Preston Hwy. in Shepherdsville) with burial in Resthaven Memorial Park.   Friends and family may pay their respects on Tuesday, November 21, 2023, from 1 pm until 8 pm and on Wednesday, November 22, 2023 from 9 am until time of service at Schoppenhorst, Underwood & Brooks Funeral Home.
