Mr. Andrew Lavern Ward

GREENWOOD, LA - Celebration of Life Services for Andrew Lavern Ward “Pete”, 78, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 23, 2012 at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home. Officiating will be Bro. Steven Hill of Grace Tabernacle and Charles Cooper, special nephew to Pete. The family will be receiving friends on Wednesday, August 22, 2012 from the hours of 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Pete was born on May 24, 1934 and went to be with the Lord on August 19, 2012. He is preceded in death by his parents, Andrew Jackson and Leona Elizabeth Sowell Ward and brother, Wilford James Ward.

Left to cherish his memories are his wife of almost fifty five years Betty Sue Cooper Ward; sons, Gerry Lavern Ward and wife Carolyn; Rodney Boyd Ward and Andy Wiley Ward and wife Yolanda; daughter, Connie Ward Robertson and husband Vance; sister, Aline Willhite; sister-in-law, Ileda Ward; nine grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren along with numerous nieces and nephews.

He was trained as a cabinet maker and enjoyed using his skills to make woodworks that others could enjoy. His favorite hobbies were fishing and traveling.

Honoring Pete as pallbearers will be his grandsons, Thomas N. Ford, Tom Lewis, Joseph R. Ward, Michael Lee, Alstin W. Ward and Taylor J’ Ward. Honorary pallbearers will be Tristan Ward, Kevin Harris and Peyton Lee.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Grace Tabernacle.
