Audrey Ruth Hollowell, age 89, of Stonewall, LA and earned her heavenly wings on August 16, 2020. Her journey has been difficult for the last few years, but she is now at peace with her Lord. Ruth was born in San Augustine, TX on July 14, 1931. She was raised in Shreveport by her parents, Neal and Essie Lyles. Ruth graduated from Byrd High School and remained a homemaker for all who were blessed and loved by her.
A graveside services will be held honoring the life of Audrey Ruth Hollowell on Wednesday, August 19, 2020 at Centuries Memorial in the Kinkade Room at 10:00 a.m. with a visitation at 9:00 a.m. Officiating the services will be Chaplain Sam Mason with St. Joseph Hospice.
Ruth leaves honored and cherished memories to her children, daughter, Rebecca (Ray) and son, Dub Hollowell (Ginger); and sister, Mary Swayze. She also leaves a host of wonderful grandchildren; Scott Phelps (Annette), Amy Cornet (Kevin), Brian Phelps (Nick), Stacy Hollowell (Nicole) and Davey Hollowell; great grandchildren, Cody Phelps (Alicia), Whitney Earl, Kayla Cornet, Kolby Cornet, Emma Hollowell, Jett Hollowell, Jax Hollowell, Baleigh Hollowell, Tyler Hollowell, and Kate Hollowell; and one special great-great granddaughter, Lydia Grace Phelps.
She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Bo Lyles; sister, Doris Hollowell; husband, Donnie; son, Eddy Hollowell (Vicki) and son-in-law, Ray Phelps.
Ruth’s kindness, sweetness and love for her family was genuine. Being a mother, grandmother and great grandmother brought her so much joy. Her hobbies included, sewing, stain glass painting, and flowers. Her “War Eagle” girl trips well special memories to her.
Pallbearers completing mother’s journey are Scott Phelps, Brian Phelps, Kevin Cornet, Stacy Hollowell, Cody Phelps, and Steve Hartsfield. Honorary pallbearer will be Kolby Cornet.
Although it is hard to say good-bye to our sweet momma and nanny, we now have peace of mind knowing she has chosen Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and is rejoicing in heaven.
