Shreveport, LA- Graveside services celebrating the life of Barbara M. Burnette, 83, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, July 3, 2015 in Centuries Memorial Park. Officiating will be Rev. Betsy Eaves. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until service time on Friday.
Mrs. Burnette was born on March 30, 1932 in Shreveport, LA where she remained a homemaker her whole life. She was a devoted member of St. Luke's UMC and served there faithfully until her health declined. The highlight of her year was working in St. Luke's Annual Pumpkin Patch.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John Philip and Beatrice McRee; husbands, Paul Mckenzie and James Burnette; daughter, Nancy Russell and two sisters, Phyllis Hannigan and Dorothy Hughes.
She is survived by her daughter, Paula Tugwell; four grandsons, Philip and Timothy Tugwell and Jason and Joshua Russell and 2 great grandsons, Connor and Colin Tugwell.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial donations be made in her honor to St. Luke's UMC, 6012 Youree Drive, Shreveport, LA 71105.
