He was born on August 1, 1955 to proud parents, Robert D. and Mary E. Jackson of Vicksburg, Mississippi. After Bobby graduated from Southwood High School in 1974, he went on to work at Riley-Beaird as a welder, before moving to Orlando, FL where he was a master mechanic at Walt Disney World. He retired after 20 years of loyal service, and received multiple awards for innovation and achievement there.
Bobby is preceded in death by his beloved father Robert, and his infant brother Scott Allen.
He is survived by his mother, Mary E. Jackson of Bossier City; his daughter Emily Jackson Strauss (husband Eric) of Flower Mound, TX; his fiancé Kathy Young of Keithville, LA; his sister Debby Morris (husband Jerry) of Bossier City, LA; his sister Robin Persson (husband David) of Little Rock, AR; his brother Paul Jackson (wife Terri) of Marana, AZ, his grandchildren Logan, Ty, Sophie, and Nathan “Cheetah” Strauss; and several nieces and nephews.
Since beginning retirement, Bobby has spent his time doing what he loves: working on cars, riding his Harley, and spending quality time with family and friends. Bobby was extraordinarily gifted with all things mechanical, and was always growing his knowledge and sharing his genius with others. Bobby was the life of the party everywhere he went. He never met a stranger in his life, and was a friend until the very end to those that knew and loved him. He will be greatly missed.
Services for Bobby will be held Saturday, January 15, 2022, at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home, 8801 Mansfield Road, Shreveport, LA. Visitation will be from 12pm – 2pm, with service and burial to follow at 2pm.
