Funeral Services celebrating Carl’s life will be held Saturday, January 16, 2021, 12 Noon at Centuries Memorial Park, 8801 Mansfield Road, Shreveport, Louisiana 71108
Carl Jones was born to the late Grissom “Kid” and Easter Marcelli-Jones on October 31, 1938 in Campti, Louisiana along with his twin brother, Carlson.
Carl sojourned through the Natchitoches Parish School System, later moving to the Shreveport Caddo Parish Area, where he met and married Audrey Hopper. God blessed them with 6 children: Gregory, Gwendolyn, Jeffery, Roderick, Karen and Carlos.
Carl was employed at Bill Poland Shreveport, Louisiana and Lennox Air Conditioner in Bossier City, Louisiana, where he retired . His tireless work ethic was an example for his children and grand-children to follow.
Carl, affectionately known as “Little Boy” to family and friends, but “Coach” to the crew at the Pool Hall, was always giving of himself. He was passionate, kind-spirited and caring of his loved ones. He enjoyed playing His greatest legacy would be his relationship with God and how he enjoyed singing with the Male Chorus at Mt. Canaan Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. Dr. Harry Blake where he was an active member before his health begin to decline.
Carl leaves indelible imprints and memories in the hearts of his twin and first best friend, Carlson Jones; Sons, Gregory Jones (Lorraine), Jeffery Jones, Roderick Jones (Portland Debro, girlfriend and caregiver), and Carlos Jones; daughters, Gwendolyn Baldwin and Karen Crawford; 9 grandchildren, Kenyatta Jones, Jeyrel Crawford, Carlos Morris, Nisha Roberson, Malique Baldwin, Asia, Destiny, and Amber Pinesett; 14 Great Grand-children, Carlos Jr., Carson, Kerria, C’Yonna, Kenley, Kasen, Kaden, Koen, Karson and Railey Jones, Za’Riyah, Ayden, Oneal, Eliza, Skighlar Presley; 1 sister, Bertha Marshall; 3 brothers Carlson (Laura), L.B.(Carolyn) and Joenathan (Anita) Jones and a host of loving nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Awaiting his heavenly arrival are his sisters Vernita Pruitt and Dorothy Durham, brothers Aaron, Arthur Lee, Ben, Jeff Jones and great-grandson, Kamren.
