Mrs. Holyfield worked as a nurse, working for many years for Dr. John Leopard. She was a Minden High School Grad and a member of Pinecroft Baptist Church for more than 50 years. She loved gardening and spent her retirement years working in her flowerbeds.
Mrs. Holyfield is preceded in death by her parents, Adolf and Catherine Spitzfaden; her husband, Howard; a sister, Judy Crayton and her dog, Lucky.
She is survived by her sons, Brian Holyfield and Robert Holyfield and wife Melissa; granddaughters, Miranda and Katie Holyfield; a sister-in-law, Betty Jo Herzog; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends.
A service celebrating the life of Catherine Johnston Holyfield will be held Friday, March 26, 2021, 10:00 AM at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home, Shreveport, LA. Officiating will be Brother Cecil Marr. Visitation with the family will be Thursday from 4 until 6 pm at the funeral home.
