Christine Ashby

Carolyn Christine Ashby broke her earthly bonds on April 8, 2022 in Shreveport, Louisiana at the age of 53. She was born December 03, 1968 in Shreveport, Louisiana to Ronald Dean and Carol Ann Olds Ashby. Affectionately known as Chris to everyone she loved, Chris had a huge heart. She adored her family, friends and animals.

At an early age Chris was involved in the Cherokeettes, baton twirling in Blanchard Elementary. She graduated from Northwood High School in 1986 before attending college at LSU but, her true calling was to be a mother, staying home to raise her kids. Many things made her smile but it was the pride she had for her children that filled her heart. Chris was seeker of knowledge and avid reader, that led her many directions in her life. She also loved to create her own stories in her many many notebooks.

Chris was extremely crafty. She liked making her own jewelry and doing her own nails with many different designs. She enjoyed creating her wonderful garden. Recently, she had taken up painting to fill her time, much like her mother, she seemed to have a talent for it.

Chris would capture a room with her beauty but it was her sense of humor and quick wit that would keep it. Music was weaved into the fabric of her life. From Pink Floyd to Stevie Nicks to Earth Wind and Fire, music always seemed to be in the background of her life.

"Oh, mirror in the sky, what is love? Can the child within my heart rise above? Can I sail through the changin' ocean tides? Can I handle the seasons of my life?"

Lefto to cherish her memory are her children, James Adam Golsby, Sherilyn Wright and Emily Wright; her first husband, Michael Wright with his wife Letha; younger brother, John Russell Ashby with his wife Deanna; mother, Carol Ashby; Granddaughter, Jade Wright; close friend, Angela Poudrier; and her beloved dog, Copper.

She was preceded in death by her father, Ronald Dean Ashby.
