Claude "Bruce" McTire was born June 3, 1940 in Derry, Louisiana to the late John Davis and Loretta Provell McTire. He was a longtime resident of Keithville, Louisiana. He honorably served his country in the United States Army from 1961- 1967. During his life, he worked as a salesman at Somner Pumps for many years before becoming a Security Guard at Willis Knighton South, where he retired after several years of service.
Bruce enjoyed playing golf and cheering on the LSU Tigers! He cherished family time. He was a man of few words but spoke in such a way you hung on to each word. Most importantly he loved front porch sitting with his best friend and wife, Delores.
Bruce went home to be with his Lord on Friday, August 23, 2024, surrounded by his family at the age of 84. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him. He is now reunited with his parents, sister, Theresa Lynn McTire, brother, John McTire Jr. and granddaughter, Jessica Brooke Delvalle.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 59 years, Delores Morvan McTire; daughter, Angela Delvalle fiance', Gary; son, Chris McTire and wife, Shannon; son, Wesley McTire and wife Lynette; his faithful dog, Teddy; seven grandchildren, Amber; Ashleigh (Jeremy), Josh (Lacey), Matt (Tori), Trinity, Laney, and Kaleigh; 14 great grandchildren, Jaeden, Mekhi, Brentley, Sailor, Adeline, Scarlet, Koda, Jase, Krew, Ranger, Lyla, Isabella, Poppy, Goldie and Donovan; brother, Robert McTire; sisters, Florence McTire-Headrick and Virginia Williams (Stick); along with a host of nephews and nieces.
A visitation for Bruce will be held Thursday, September 5, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home, 8801 Mansfield Road, Shreveport, LA 71108. A celebration of life will occur Friday, September 6, 2024 at 11:00 AM, 8801 Mansfield Road, Shreveport, LA 71108. A graveside will occur Friday, September 6, 2024 at 1:30 PM at Northwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery, 7970 Mike Clark Rd, Keithville, LA 71047. Dr. Howard Hall will be officiating the service. Honoring him as pallbearers will be Stick Williams, Mike McTire, Shannon McTire, Tim Carmack, Adam Headrick and Kyle Morvan.
