A visitation for Debbie will be held Monday, October 11, 2021 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home, 8801 Mansfield Road, Shreveport, Louisiana 71108, followed by a Celebration of Life at 1:00 PM. Elder James Monk will be officiating. Honoring the family as pallbearers are Ken Kirchner, Thomas Harkins, Richard Harkins, Adam Traylor, Roger Suiter and Kyle Tauzin.
Debbie was called home to be with the Lord on Monday, October 4, 2021 in the comfort of her own home. Debbie was born in Kinder, LA in 1951, and moved to Shreveport after graduating from Northwestern State University with a degree in music. She later pursued her degree in nursing and spent most of her career at the VA Hospital. Her amazing love and dedication to her patients was awarded with Nurse of the year awards multiple times during her nurse manager career.
Debbie had many hobbies and activities she loved. She was always up for a round of golf, darts, and even pool. Most of her weekends involved shopping, working in her craft room, reading, and surrounding herself with her children and grandchildren. She was full of fun, glowing smiles, and the most amazing laugh.
Debbie was preceded in death by her parents, Ruby Louise Kirchner and Kenneth Earl Kirchner.
Left to cherish her memory include her husband, John Harkins Jr.; her brother, Kenneth Hugh Kirchner; her four children, Chris Pratt (Sam), Kim Lemoine (Shawn Wiese), Thomas Harkins (Megan), Richard Harkins (Nicole Francipane) and 11 grandkids, Finn, Jade, Liam, Dixie, Kaylie, Colton, Jolie, Joseph, Brendon, Christian and Hunter.
