Donald Eugene Moreau of Shreveport, Louisiana went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, March 10, 2024 at the age of 80. He was born in Port Arthur, Texas to Louise Vice Moreau and Wilfred Moreau on February 29, 1944.
Don honorably served in the United States Army as a medic before his discharge. After his discharge, he received his certifications in HVAC and Electrical. He had a career at Texaco before retiring and moving to Shreveport, Louisiana. He then worked at Summer Grove Baptist Church in maintenance. Don became a very active member of the church, singing in the choir and attending Sunday School.
Don was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend. He was a devoted Christian and loved the Lord deeply. He was always the life of the party. He loved telling jokes and making others laugh. He enjoyed watching football games mainly rooting for the New Orleans Saints and LSU Tigers. He also liked Hallmark Movies, crossword puzzles, reading and attending church. Some of his favorite times were playing table games at the Casino but most importantly the all you can eat crab legs. He could really put them away, going through plates at a time. Most importantly, he loved spending time with his family and friends. He adored his kids, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He will be truly missed.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Ramona Moreau; children, Jean Moreau, Jennifer Moreau, Tray Marsh and wife, Kim, and Dedra Lejeune; stepchildren, Heather Lovett and Michael McCartney and wife Nanette; his sister, Melba Moreau Hunt (David Yeske); nephew, Johnny Hunt; niece, Shelley Hunt Briesch; grandchildren, Keaton Flagg, Elaine Flagg, Katey Flagg, Jimmy Flagg, Gracie Lejeune, Monte Lejeune, Tristin Lejeune, Peyton Lejeune, Caroline Marsh, Jonathan Marsh, Callie McCartney, Kacie White and husband, Dylan, Colton McCartney and wife, Haley, Haylee Sands and husband, Daniel and Allyson Bynog and husband, Kody; ten great grandchildren; along with numerous extended family members and countless friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, infant son, Joseph Eugene Moreau and brother-in-law, Erney Hunt.
A visitation for Don will be held Thursday, March 14, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home, 8801 Mansfield Road, Shreveport, Louisiana 71108. A celebration of life will occur Friday, March 15, 2024 at 12:00 PM at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home. His brother-in-law, Mark McWhiney will officiate his service. Serving as pallbearers are Tristin Lejeune, Peyton Lejeune, Mike McCartney, Dylan White and Russell Owens. Honorary pallbearers are Keaton Flagg, Jimmy Flagg, Colton McCartney, Monte Lejeune and Jonathan Marsh. He will be laid to rest with Army Honors at Forest Park West, 4000 Meriwether Rd, Shreveport. Louisiana.
