Earnest Phillip Fegley Jr., of Shreveport, Louisiana went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, August 7, 2022 at the age of 76.
Earnie was born September 30, 1945 in Mansfield, Louisiana to the late Frances B. and Earnest P. Fegley Sr. He was devoted to his faith, his wife and family. He was a dedicated member of Calvary Baptist Church, where he took on many responsibilities. Earnie taught the Men's Class for 15 years before teaching the Pastor's Class for over 25 years. He also served as President of the Step Martin Evangelistic Association and served on the board of The Price Harris Evangelistic Association.
Earnie loved being active in sports as well. He coached many young boys and youth baseball over the years. He served as President of the Northwest Louisiana Football Officials' Association for several years.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Virginia Dickerson.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 54 years, Rita Young Fegley; children, Trey Fegley and wife, Laura, Brint Fegley and wife, Marla, and Robin Fegley Lewis and husband, Bro. Calep Lewis; grandchildren, Dalton Lewis, Rayleigh Lewis, Brooke Fegley, Andrew Fegley and Tate Fegley; and numerous cousins and special friends.
A visitation for Earnie will be held Wednesday, August 10, 2022 from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM at Calvary Baptist Church, 9333 Linwood Ave., Shreveport, LA 71106, followed by a celebration of life at 2:00 PM.
He will be laid to rest in Centuries Memorial Park, 8801 Mansfield Road, Shreveport, LA 71108-5813. Officiating the service will be Rev. Wayne DuBose with Rev. Steve Gilley performing the graveside.
Serving as pallbearers are Chan Hearron, Chris Young, Eric Toups, Chad Parker, Dalton Lewis, Andrew Fegley, and Tate Fegley. Honorary pallbearers are Mickey Joiner, Dan Parker and Thomas Youngblood.
The family would like to express their warmest thanks to Dr. Scott Howard, Dr. Cody Tingle, Dr. Robert Martin and the Willis Knighton Health System for their wonderful care.
