To the Davis Family,

Praying for peace and comfort.   Know the E. Jack was so, so special to my family.   

When hospitalized for a difficult pregnancy with twins, my caring co-worker, E Jack came to visit me every day  (6 days) in labor and delivery.  He happened to be there when it was decided that an emergency C-section would have to be done.  E. Jack stepped into motion and supported my "numb" husband by staying with him and calling my family after I was taken to delivery.  He remained with him until my family arrived.   

The twins who are 35 years old, knows him as Uncle E. Jack, the wonderful man that was there with their Dad when they were born. 

Thank God for Uncle E. Jack.   Rest in Peace.

It’s with a heavy heart and much regret that I cannot be here to see y’all in person .we all loved our uncle Jack so much and all y’all my aunts and uncles my grandparents and all my cousins first second And third…I think Uncle Jack would want us to celebrate his life and not be sad .as you all knowHe was the kindest gentlest man we ever met his  caring never stoppedI  he always went above and beyond to mediate the problems and put a sense of calm over everything. Everybody trusted and loved  him …But don’t be mistaken papa didn’t take no mess … he was  very soft-spoken but when he did say something you better have listened.  He truly loved His family ,all of us .Children step children nephews and nieces alike and his beautiful wife Aunt Betty was the light of his life. They even came to Tahoe so give my sister Liz away at her wedding  I remember him taking us to the Johnson/Davis family reunions At the old Confederate battle field To meet with all the family aunts and uncles cousins first second third maybe even fourth it didn’t matter we were all Kin .  Great southern cooking stories about the past and just getting to know folks. Like churning homemade  ice cream Where everyone had to take a turn. Anyway I feel like he’s at that Family reunion now Up in heaven reunited with all of our loved ones who have gone before us.we love you Uncle Jack and I think more than anything he would want the next generations of our family to not lose touch of One another or of Our past So we can make a better future.. our family is our strength. One day we will all get to that family reunion in the sky and we will hold his memory in our hearts. .Looking at the photos ,That man knew how to take a picture.   With that smile and those shining Eyes : and so I say  May the road rise up to meet you may the wind blow strongly at your back May the sun shine warmly on your face may the Rain Fall gently on your fields and Until we meet again May the good Lord Hold you in the palm of his hand

I've had the honor of knowing E Jack for several years due to being able to maintain His and Betty's lawn.  He would always , most of the time , greet me when I arrived and we would have some fond memories of years past when he worked for SWEPCO and both of us knowing several Swepco employees. He will be missed by all.

I worked with E. Jack for many years at SWEPCO and he was the nicest man and so kind.  My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends.   
 

I remember a very kind man who brought watermelons for the residents at The Glen. Even after Mrs. Dezzie passed , every summer for years he showed up with watermelons for the residents. I ran the beauty shop and had the privilege of taking care of Mrs.Dezzie, an unforgettable lady. I was impressed by Jack’s kindness and friendliness. He was dedicated to his family. Truly a good man. RIP     Sincerely, Margaret Fletcher🙏☺️

Martial and I are so very sorry to hear of E. Jack's passing. He was a soft spoken and kind man. I know you will miss his sweet demeanor and unending love.  Please know we are thinking of you and his children and grandchildren during this difficult time. We pray for peace and strength for you all.  I wish we could be there in person but know we will be there in spirit.

My favorite uncle .... No  I'm your favorite uncle Jack. You're my only uncle Jack. Well, we don't want the other uncles to feel bad. *wink and a sly smile.  There is profound sadness and loss but comfort that it's a reunion ... a loud, love filled teunion.  May we all find comfort in our memories.
