She lived most of her life in Shreveport, LA and Ringgold, LA.
Mae married Willie Royle “Bill” Cline, a widower with two sons, William and Marcus. She became a homemaker and together, they had three children and adopted two more. Their family were very active in the 4-H program at Fair Park High School. She lost her husband in 1973, after which she learned to drive, worked hard for and received her GED and did the best she could as a single mom. Mae worked as a hostess at Picadilly Cafeteria, and as a bank teller for United Mercantile Bank, Tri-State Bank in Haughton, and Commercial National Bank. She loved to read, sit on her porch, sip her coffee, and watch her hummingbirds. She was a devout Christian and former member of First Baptist Bossier City. She absolutely loved giraffes, and she always admired their beauty and grace.
After 94 years, she passed from this world peacefully on December 3, 2025. She was preceded in death by her husband Bill, her stepsons William and Marcus Cline, her brothers Dempsey, E.L., L.C. and Burlin “Sonny”, and her sisters Thelma, Ruby, Lois and Pauline.
