Rodney “Frank” Langley passed away on Wednesday November 18, 2020 in Shreveport, LA at the age of 72. He was born on June 2, 1948 to Willis and Virgie Langley in Monroe, LA. Frank was a jack-of-all-trades and a licensed HVAC repairman until he retired due to health problems. He loved to spend time with his kids, and Grandchildren and spend time in the wood hunting.
Micheal, his second oldest son, describes him with this: He was my father and my best friend. He shaped the way I see the world even though it was not his view. It was him that taught me to see the world without prejudice and fear. He was my biggest critic and my greatest support. When everyone else counted me out, he was there kicking me in my rear telling me I was better than that. You just cannot replace that.
Frank was survived by his current wife, Shirley Langley of Shreveport, La., four Sons and two Daughters and their 12 Grandchildren: Penny Langley of Shreveport, La and her two children Kristy and Kayla. Ronnie Langley (Shannon) of Bossier, LA. and his four children Farrah, Taylor, Tabitha and Tawnie , Micheal Langley of Murfreesboro, Tn. and his two children Hannah and Daniel, Rachel Langley Langford (Jesse) of Shreveport, La. and her child Cameron. , Rodney Langley of Shreveport, La. and his three children Amber, Kasey and Jordan. , and Scott Langley of Shreveport, La. and his two children Jesse and Hope.
He was preceded in death by his parents Willis and Virgie Langley, His four bothers, Willie Lee, Joe, Benny and Johnnie and a sister Norma Jean. The mothers of his children: Toni and Deborah and lastly his two grandchildren (Rachel) who proceeded him in death by only months: Matthew Langley (31) and Trenton Langford (24). I imagine his grandchildren meeting him at heavens gates with a smile and Matthew with his peeled onion to eat together as they did when he was a young child.
