

Fred made his career at the Kansas City Southern Railroad Company for 33 years. He held numerous positions starting as an apprentice machinist. After several promotions and moves he left as the Superintendent of Locomotives, but he continued to follow his passion for locomotives and the railroad industry and started a Locomotive Consultant firm where he worked another 7 years before retiring to enjoy the rest of his life with Sandy, his wife of 48 years. Fred was born on August 30, 1947, to the late Fred and Olive Haywood of Shreveport.
Fred is survived by his wife Sandy Haywood; daughter, Wendy D. Haywood; son, Fred D. Haywood; grandchildren, Paris N. Dupuy Snider, Colton T. Haywood, Michael H. Dupuy and Hanna B. Haywood, great grandchildren, Jaxon Snider and Beckett Snider. Other surviving family members include a brother, Charles Haywood and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, February 11, 2015, 2:00 PM at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home, Shreveport. Interment will follow in Centuries Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Tuesday February 10, 2015 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
The family would like to express sincere appreciation to all who have given support; he will be missed by many.
