Gary Bamburg, 70, went to be with his Lord July 29, 2018 in Shreveport. He graduated from Woodlawn and attended LA Tech. He was an avid sportsman including baseball, gymnastics, golf, hunting and fishing. Gary lit up every room he walked into and he left a mark on everyone he came across. He never met a stranger. Gary worked most of his life at Polan Weed Eater and Frymaster.
Gary is preceded in death by his father, R. L. Bamburg. He is survived by his wife, Donna Nezat Bamburg; his mother, Doris Bamburg; son, Mike Bamburg (Carrie); daughters, Lindsay Cobb (Thor) and Shelley Spence (Chris); grandchildren, Kyndall, Avery, and Davlyn Spence, Caitlin, Ethan, Logan, Aidan, and Evey Bamburg, and Odin Cobb; bonus children, Erin and Cadie Hopkins and Jason and Erin Murphy; sisters, Robbie Boyett (Dennis), Sue Windham (Joe), and Jerri Boyett (Larry); mother in law, Mary Nezat; brother in law, Steve Nezat (Terri). He is also survived by many other relatives and friends.
A service celebrating the life of Gary will be held Friday, August 3, 2018, 11:00 AM at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home. Interment will follow. Visitation with the family will be Thursday, August 2, from 5 until 7 PM at the funeral home.
Pallbearers are: Jim Shockley, Danny Weaver, Spud Murphy, Steve Garrett, Roger Braniff, and Jay Kerr. Honorary Pallbearers are: Robert King, Michael Cummings, Jessie Ford, and Durwood Lee.
