Age 84, of Keithville, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 25, 2024. Gerald was born in Dry Prong, Louisiana, and lived a life marked by faith, dedication, and love for family and friends.
Gerald worked at Beaird Industries for 42 years in the X-ray department and was a devoted member of Grawood Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and taught both youth and adult Sunday school for many years. He was also an active volunteer with the Southern Baptist Association Disaster Relief team, offering his help and support to those in need.
A proud and devoted Christian, Gerald loved to talk about the Lord and was known for his kindness and unwavering faith. He was an avid reader with a particular passion for history and travel, and you could always find him in his favorite recliner or enjoying time in his shop or yard. Gerald had a remarkable talent for woodworking, turning a simple piece of wood into a beautiful masterpiece. He was also a loyal fan of the LSU Tigers and the Dallas Cowboys.
Gerald was a great friend to all who knew him, and his love for others was evident in everything he did. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all whose lives he touched.
He is survived by his sons: Charlie Faircloth (Cindy), Richard Faircloth (Dee), David Faircloth (Nikki), Allen Faircloth (Melissa), and Clay Faircloth (Veronica); his brother, Larry Faircloth (Mari); his sister-in-law, Johnnie Swails (Bill); and his special friend, Diane Bolen. He was a proud grandfather to 13 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren, and he also leaves behind several nieces and nephews.
Gerald was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Billie Faircloth, and his parents, Allen Baxter Faircloth and Ruth Eloise Faircloth.
The family would like to extend their special thanks to the Caddo Fire Department District 4 and the staff at Ochsner LSU Health for their compassionate care and support during this time.
A visitation for Gerald will be held Friday, November 29, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Grawood Baptist Church, 5841 Colquitt Rd, Keithville, LA 71047. A Celebration of Life will occur Saturday, November 30, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Grawood Baptist Church.
Gerald will be laid to rest in Centuries Memorial Park, 8801 Mansfield Rd, Shreveport, LA 71108-5813; Memories East; Lot: 867, Grave: 4.
Serving as pallbearers are Allen Faircloth , Hunter Faircloth, Brandon Faircloth, Joey Graves, Mackey McNaughton, Virgil Smith, Tim McNaughton and Tanner Head.
