Mrs. Helen Lee Fern Brown Nichols

Funeral services celebrating the life of Helen Lee Fern Brown Nichols, 87, will be held at 1pm on Sunday, January 21, 2018, in the chapel of Centuries Memorial Funeral Home. Officiating will be her son, Steve Nichols. Interment will follow at 4pm in the Campbell Creek Cemetery in Lena, LA (Flatwoods exit). Visitation will be held from 5-7pm on Saturday, January 20, 2018, at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home.

Helen Lee Fern Brown Nichols of DeBerry, Texas was called home on Wednesday, January 17, 2018, to be with her Lord and Savior in Heaven. She was born on December 27, 1930, in Heflin, Louisiana to Laura Ann Miller Brown and Howard Stanford Brown. She was the youngest of six children and was often called “Baby Helen”. Helen married her love, Leo Nichols in 1950. Together they raised seven children.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents, Laura and Howard Brown; husband, Leo Nichols; daughter, Belinda Lenae Nichols; granddaughter, Dixie Marie Nichols; daughter in law, Patricia Nichols; son in law, Alan Boyd; and siblings, Lester Brown, Evelyn Hyde, L.V. Taglavore, Ernest Brown, and Vollie H. Brown.

Left to cherish many fun memories of Helen, Mamaw Nick, Fairy God Mother, is her children, Ronald E. Nichols and wife Martha, Barbara Nichols Foster, Carolyn Faye Nichols, Steve Nichols and wife Jeanie, Daniel Nichols, and Janie Nichols Jordan and husband Mark; 12 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, 7 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and great friends and neighbors.

Honoring Helen Nichols as pallbearers will be Frank Kovac, Will Nichols, Steve Mathews, Reese Mathews, Mark Jordan, Marc Ballenger, Wes Smith, and Jack Nichols. Honorary Pallbearers will be Cleo Nichols, Robert Ray, Jonathan Ray and Kevin Bass.
