Jack O. Waren passed peacefully just 21 days shy of his 98th birthday, leaving behind a legacy built with steady hands, a curious mind, and a heart devoted to family. For 25 years he worked as a journeyman brick mason, shaping homes and structures across the community. In his 40s, he began a second career with the Caddo Parish School Board, ultimately retiring after two decades of dedicated service as Supervisor of Maintenance and Grounds.
Jack lived life in motion. He played semi-pro baseball in Shreveport, later embracing roller skating, bowling, flying airplanes, and eventually golf. Whatever he tried, he pursued with enthusiasm and quiet determination that inspired those around him.
At home, Jack was always tinkering, fixing, and building- never far from a project or puzzle. His inventive spirit, quick wit, and quirky humor became gifts he passed on to his children and all who knew him.
He survived by his wife of more than 76 years Annie, his sons David and Paul, his daughter Pam, daughters- in- law Josey and Felicia, and more family members and friends than could ever be counted. Each one carries a piece of his love.
Jack loved deeply, quietly, and without condition. His presence was a steady comfort, and his absence will be felt in every corner of the lives he touched. We will miss him so.
The family extends their gratitude to staff at Heart to Heart Hospice and Longview Regional Hospital for their care.
