Joel "Joey" Craig Wiggins, age 58, of Shreveport, Louisiana was called home by the Lord on Monday, June 21, 2021 due to complications related to Multiple System Atrophy. Joey was born March 18, 1963 in Shreveport, Louisiana to Peggie Reese Wiggins and Lorris Wayne Wiggins.
Joey is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Cheryl Ard Wiggins; son Matthew Reese Wiggins; and daughter Haley Elizabeth Wiggins; mother Peggie Reese Wiggins; brother Randy Wiggins and his wife Susan; niece Rachel Wiggins Bays and her husband Daniel; great nieces Blair Adaline Bays and Bishop Anne Bays; father-in-law Vern Ard and mother-in-law Brenda Ard; brothers-in-law Darrell Ard and Preston Ard. He is also survived by a host of aunts, uncles and cousins.
Joey was preceded in death by his father Lorris Wayne Wiggins.
After graduating from Baptist Christian Academy Joey began working in the HVAC Mechanical Contracting Industry. He was a dedicated employee working for Air Ref, Berg Mechanical, Johnson Controls, and finally retiring from SBC Mechanical making lifelong friendships along the way.
Joey was devoted to his family and loved spending time with them in the outdoors hunting, fishing and camping. One of his favorite past times was sitting around with family members playing guitar and harmonizing.
A funeral service for Joey will be held Thursday, June 24, 2021 at 10:00am in the Chapel at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home, 8801 Mansfield Road, Shreveport, Louisiana 71108 with Bro. Bill Kincaid and Bro Jack Alumbaugh of Baptist Tabernacle officiating. The visitation will begin at 9:00am. Interment will follow in Centuries Memorial Park.
Honoring Joey as pallbearers will be Gary Wolfe, Dayle Bryant, Robert Berry, Paul Davis, Drexell Triplet and Steve Parker. Honorary pallbearers are Wayne Triplet, Nathan Wilkins, Danny Turgeon, Billy Stengel, John Matlock, David Denmon, Bobby Ebarb, Doug Potter and Greg Sepulvado.
