Services celebrating the life of John Thomas Withem, 87, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, Febraury 21, 2011 in the chapel of Centuries Memorial Funeral Home, Shreveport,LA. Officiating will be Chaplain Les Riggs. Interment will follow in Centuries Memorial Park.

John Thomas Withem, “Daddy Wee” was born July 31, 1923 in Arkansas and ascended into heaven February 18, 2011 in Shreveport, LA. He served proudly in the US Army Tank Corps in WWII and earned a purple heart and six bronze stars.

He was preceded in death by his parents, ten brothers and sisters and loving wife, Clara Oleta Withem.

He is survived by daughters, Johnneta Riggs and husband Les, Connie Baten and husband Roger; grandchildren, John Hawn and wife Sandie, Leah Carter and husband Jon, Josh Baten and fiance’ Amy, Will Baten and wife Katie; great grandchildren, Haeley, Hayden, Nicklaus, Cullen, Ava, Ethan and Emery.

The family would like to express special thanks to the staff at Colonial Oaks and Schumpert Hospital. He will be sadly missed by all, but there is a new star in the heavens looking down smiling and saying, “I am all better now.”
