Kay Robinson of Shreveport, Louisiana, was called home into the loving arms of her Heavenly Father on March 29, 2016, at the age of 60. A memorial service in her honor will be held at 11 A.M. on Saturday, April 2, 2016 at Centuries Memorial Chapel.
Kay was born on September 15, 1955, to Gene and Billie Robinson. She graduated from Captain Shreve High School in 1973 and attended NLU in Monroe, Louisiana. She began working at LSU Medical Center in 1981 which evolved into a career as the resident coordinator of the OB-GYN department. As the coordinator, she made it her personal mission to not only welcome the new residents to Shreveport but also guide and assist them in any way she could as they went through the program.
Kay was one of a kind. She immensely loved animals and spent many years working as a volunteer for the Humane Society of Northwest Louisiana finding loving homes for stray and neglected animals. She also supported efforts to eliminate neglect and abuse to animals nationwide. Kay was an avid LSU fan and always supported them through thick and thin. In fact, she would still be asking why they never throw to the tight end! Kay deeply loved all kinds of music, but in particular, the music of the band Chicago and Sir Paul McCartney. She was a member of the Chicago fan club and made many lifelong friends as she attended hundreds of Chicago concerts all over the country. Above all, her greatest love was her family.
Kay was preceded in death by her father, Gene Robinson, and is survived by her mother, Billie Robinson, brother Mark and wife Kathy, and brother Bert. She is also survived by nephews and nieces: Blake Lackey and wife Whitney, Alison Lackey, Matt Robinson and wife Emily, Alissa Wheat and husband Josh, Austin Robinson, and Kara Kay Robinson, and some of the most precious people to her: great nephews, Luke and Reid Robinson; and great nieces, Julianne Robinson and Hadlee Wheat. Kay is also survived by aunt Linda Moorehead and Kay’s BFF and adopted sister, Colleen Marble.
In lieu of flowers and in memory of Kay, she would be honored by a donation in her name to the animal rescue organization of your choice. “You can judge a man’s true character by the way he treats his fellow animals” – Sir Paul McCartney. We love you forever, Aunt Kay.
