Oma LaVern Lee was born October 7, 1925, and passed away peacefully on February 10, 2021, at the age of 95. She is predeceased by her husband of 62 years, Lehron J. Lee. She is survived by her three children, Barbara Jean Lee, Jerry Wayne Lee and his wife Rosanne, and Betty (Betsy) Lee Flowers. Also surviving her are her four grandchildren: Matthew Paul and his wife Jen, along with their five children Mikey, Teresa, Anna, Joseph, and Thomas; Michael Paul; Jonathan Paul; and Nikki Voris and her husband Jordan. She is also survived by her brother Benny Arthur and his wife Ann.
LaVern worked for many years and retired when she and her husband helped all three children obtain their college education. After that, she became a full-time homemaker. She loved cooking for family and friends, and her home was always a place where everyone was welcome. She was a long-time member of Summer Grove Baptist Church. She cherished her friends there and served the Lord with her talents and gifts. She loved her Lord, her church, her family, and her many friends and caring neighbors. She was a strong woman who worked hard and was dedicated to those that she loved. Her memory will be cherished by all who knew her.
Due to the weather conditions, the visitation will be from 9 to 10 a.m. at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home on Mansfield Road with the funeral following at 10 a.m. on Monday, February 22, 2021. In lieu of sending flowers, she would be honored if donations were made to Summer Grove Baptist Church or the charity of your choice.
