Louis William Lambert, age 74, of Shreveport, Louisiana went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 22, 2023. Louis was born December 1, 1948 in Gonzales, Louisiana to Louis John and Bettie Lambert.
Louis served in the United States Army completing two (2) tours in Vietnam , where he received three (3) purple hearts and the Bronze Star. He spent the rest of his career working as a crane operator all over the United States and offshore. Louis and his wife Gwendolyn fell in love while they were pen pals during Louie's tours in Vietnam. They were married in Honolulu, Hawaii in 1969. They spent 47 wonderful years together. Louis loved spending time with family and Buttercup, his faithful dog. He loved attending church and worshipping his Lord and Savior. He will be greatly missed by those who knew him best and loved him most.
Louis was preceded in death by his loving wife, Gwendolyn Taylor Lambert and mother, Elizabeth Lambert Kennedy.
Left to cherish his memory is his daughter, Wendy Prymek (Andy) of Shreveport, Louisiana; son, Grant Lambert of Bay Minette, Alabama; grandchildren, Abigail Grace Prymek, Gage Michael Prymek and Gracie Leigh Lambert.
A visitation for Louis will be held Thursday, March 30, 2023 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home, 8801 Mansfield Road, Shreveport, Louisiana 71108. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, March 31, 2023 at 10:00 am at Centuries. A committal service with Military Honors will take place at Northwest Louisiana Veteran Cemetery, 7970 Mike Clark Rd., Keithville, Louisiana 71047.
