Marjorie Dean Vines Ames, age 96 passed away peacefully on August 31, 2017 surrounded by her family. Marjorie was born on September 17, 1920 in Sutton, AR to the late Gertrude Goynes and Otho Vines. She is survived by her daughters Billie (David) Richmond and Vivian (Charles) Shirley, sons-in-law Jimmy Gillespie, Mel Sojka, and Glen Vance, 21 grandchildren, 56 great-grandchildren, and 23 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, John W. Ames, Jr. and her daughters, Linda Gillespie, Betty Sojka, and Mary Jane Vance.
Marjorie will be remembered as a true servant of God and a pillar of strength in her family. Marjorie’s family will hold a private graveside service. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Providence House.
