Marvin graduated from Byrd High School and spent one year at Louisiana Tech where he was President of the Kappa Alpha pledge class. He was drafted into the Navy and served his country for three years.
He built his house in 1955 in Southern Hills and his home was known for its beautifully manicured lawn. In the 1990's he designed and built a backyard swimming pool that was later featured in Better Homes and Gardens. Many family memories were made here. He worked for Riley Beaird as a draftsman and traveled extensively with his wife and friends during their retirement years. He will be greatly missed by those who knew him best and loved him most.
Left to cherish his memory is his daughter, Lee Ann Fleming and her husband, Rick Fleming; grandson, Beau Fleming and his wife Molly; granddaughter, Kelly Fleming; great grandson, Louis Fleming; sister, Jacqueline Scott and numerous nieces and nephews.
Marvin was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and JenniLee Crain; wife, Carole Vinson Crain and brother, Ronald Crain.
A Graveside service will be held on Wednesday, October 4, 2023 at 2:00 pm at Centuries Memorial Park, 8801 Mansfield Road, Shreveport, Louisiana 71108. Honorary pallbearers are Buddy Bickham, Jimmy Bryant, Rick Fleming, Beau Fleming, Alan Jones, James Martin, Jimmy Pilgram and Carl Vinson.
