Peggy Ann McGinty Meshell was born March 10, 1948, to the late Louis McGinty and Donnie Barnett. She was the oldest of four children, brother Louis McGinty, sister Rhonda Robbins and brother James McGinty. She attended Fair Park High School.
At 17, she met David Meshell and as she says “It was love at first sight”. They married and together had four beautiful daughters, Sherry Lewis, husband Terry Lewis, Johnnie Lindberg, husband James Lindberg, Lalinda “Lynnie” Perret, husband Kevin Perret, and Vicky Meshell. Her girls made her a Nanny and gave her six grandkids, Trevor Lewis, Ni’Cole Ryan, David Lindberg, Brittney Lindberg Kidd, husband Jyles Kidd, Thristian “Shelby” Stoute, and Kevin “J.T.” Perret II. From them she gained four great- grandchildren, Takoda Anderson, and Novaleigh Ryan, Henley Kidd, and Sawyer Kidd.
Peggy never met a stranger, to know her was to love her and be loved by her. She loved to celebrate every holiday and said that there was always a reason to get together with family. Peggy and her husband were avid classic car collectors. They shared that love with the entire family. They enjoyed going to Biloxi beach every year for Cruising the Coast. She loved to cook and bake, contributing to the Meshell family cookbook, and always ready to whip up a cake for everyone’s birthday. She loved to sew and make things for others just to make them smile. Peggy was the most selfless and compassionate woman, words cannot begin to describe just how amazing she was. We cherish every memory and were grateful and blessed for the time we had with her. To say she will be missed is truly an understatement.
She went home to our Lord and Savior Monday, November 25, 2024 surrounded by her family at the age of 76. She is now reunited in Heaven with her parents and brother, James McGinty.
A visitation for family and friends will be held Tuesday, November 26, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at David and Peggy's Home, 692 Linwood Ave, Stonewall, LA 71078 to celebrate Peggy's Life.
