

Richard “Rich” for his friends and “Richie” for his family, died unexpectedly on January 28, 2023, at Halifax Memorial Hospital to Cardiac Arrest. He was only 48 years old. The family is deeply saddened and devastated by his sudden death.
Rich was born on September 24, 1974 in Yonkers, where he also grew up before moving to Shreveport, Louisiana. It was there where he eventually met his wife on a business trip to the Philippines. Then moved with his family to South Florida to grab an opportunity to build his dreams with his family then eventually ended up in Daytona Beach. His greatest joy came from his wife and child. They created many memories while enjoying trips as a family. Visiting New York, Louisiana, and enjoys going to the beach.
Rich is survived and missed by his loving wife Queeny; and his step-child, Ericka. Forever cherished and remembered by his Manuel, Borga, Henriquez, Confeitero, and Dasilva Families.
Rich was predeceased by his father Manuel, and his mother, Teresa.
He took an active role in the life of his step-child as a real father would and enjoyed accompaning her in Karate classes. Rich had many professions throughout his life. He worked in a Radio Shack in New York, along with his friends, worked for Verizon and when he moved to Louisiana he joined US Support and Teleperformance where he met his lifelong friends.
Rich had an undying love for soccer and baseball. He enjoyed watching soccer with his family rooting for the Portuguese team and the METS for baseball. He will go to the beach with his family every chance he gets. Rich was never scared to take on new opportunities and did everything with honesty and integrity. He had very strong values and was well-liked by everyone, mostly due to his positive energy. Rich had incredible patience, and always made time to help others. He would say it all comes back to us.
His legacy will carry on forever reminding us that we control our attitudes. We choose to live a life of meaningful acts of love and service, like Christ modeled for us. There are no words that can express how grateful and blessed we are to our family who continuously supports us.
