Richard "Dick" Ray Lutz of Frierson, Louisiana passed away on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at the age of 78. He was born October 5, 1942 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Edna Maxie Carriker Lutz and George Richard Lutz.
Dick joined the United States Marine Corp in 1962 where he honorably served as a sergeant. He moved to Shreveport from Oklahoma City in 1966 to work in the new Western Electric Factory. After 38 years, he retired as a manager from AT&T/Lucent in 2000. After retirement, he enjoyed time on his farm fishing, hunting, woodworking, and spending quality time with his grandchildren. He and IJ spent 47 years together building a wonderful life, home and a lifetime of lasting memories. They spent a lot of time traveling and working together with the youth at Frierson Baptist Church. His heart was full of love for the young people there, where he and IJ led that ministry.
Dick was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He truly loved and received love in every aspect of life. He had a huge heart and always wanted to help. He had a laughter that filled any room he entered. Dick will deeply be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Left to cherish his memory are the love of his life, IJ; daughters, Lisa Mitchell (Ralph) and Leigh Hagan; sisters, Linda Fishel (Steve) and Jean Eshbaugh (Willard); grandchildren, Dylan Mitchell (Melissa Zeid), Samantha Swalley (Mark), and Aaron Hagan.
Dick was preceded in death by parents George and Edna Lutz.
A celebration of life service for Dick will be held Monday, January 4, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home, 8801 Mansfield Rd, Shreveport, Louisiana 71108.
