Russell was an incredible mix of smart and funny.  While staying with me and our friend Alden during our first duty assignments, he made every event more interesting. He provided a great wit and perspective on life; whether it was Halloween, Vegas, or just roaming downtown Savannah.
To Russell - thank you for being gentle whenever you had to point out that LSU was better at football than UGA. And brother - be thou at peace.

I have many memories of Russell but one that stands out was attending the “Ice-Bowl” at the independence bowl in Shreveport when it snowed and sleeted inches and inches on us while we watched the game... Russell, his dad, Daniel Miers and myself. We braved the snow storm and stayed the entire game with inches of snow stacked on our hats! we were 13-14 yrs old at the time. After that we went home and made snowmen and snow angles in his dad’s yard in North Highlands. 

We went our separate ways as we aged but the memories of our youth will last forever. God rest his soul. I pray for peace in his daughter’s Life.  RIP brother
