After graduating from Bunkie High, Sharon moved to Baton Rouge where she met her husband of 63 years, Jim Shea. Sharon was proud of her work at the State Capital where she worked before she married Jim and her children were born. In 1965, Sharon and Jim moved their young family to Shreveport making it their home. Sharon then selflessly and compassionately cared for her son, Patrick and her family as a loving mother, devoted wife, and as her life's purpose. As a grandmother, she cherished caring for Gracie after school during her childhood years making many precious memories. Sharon was an avid gardener and took great joy in creating a beautiful oasis around her home and in sharing her love of gardening with her daughters. She loved to decorate her home for the changing seasons and to celebrate the holidays with her family. She will be greatly missed by those who knew her best and loved her most.
Sharon was preceded in death by parents, George and Norris Zimmer LaFleur, sister, Mary "Karen" LaFleur Galland (Tom), and her beloved daughter, Nancy Ann Shea.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband, James F. Shea, III; son, James Patrick Shea; daughter, Deborah Shea Baukman; granddaughter, Gracie Shea Smyth (Kolby); brothers, Marvin LaFleur (Jean), and Richard "Dicky" LaFleur; sister, Donna Ducote (Ron), and her many nieces and nephews.
