Mrs. Trudy Charisse David Mccartney

Services celebrating the life of Trudy David McCartney, 54, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 1, 2011 in the chapel of Centuries Memorial Funeral Home, Shreveport, LA. Officiating will be Pastor Denny Duron and Bro. Brian Opbroek of Shreveport Community Church, Shreveport, LA. Interment will follow in Centuries Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 31, 2011 at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home.

Trudy was born on January 11, 1957 in Shreveport, LA and passed away on August 28, 2011. After graduating from Woodlawn High School, she attained her degree as a respiratory therapist and worked at LSUHSC for 11 years. She later attained her degree in education and counseling and became a school teacher and a battered women’s counselor. She was a member of Shreveport Community Church and enjoyed teaching Sunday school there. .

Trudy was preceded in death by her parents, Val Howard David and Bonnie Easley Vines; paternal grandparents, A.C. David and Grace Pritchard David; maternal grandparents, Frank Lennon Easley and Ora Lee Easley.

Left to cherish beautiful memories of Trudy are her beloved husband Michael McCartney; beloved daughter, Laura Shillings; beloved granddaughter, Anabelle Grace Grypp; beloved brothers, Danny David, Keith David and beloved sister, Valynda David. She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Honoring Mrs. McCartney as pallbearers will be Jeff Trammell, Pat Pierce, Charles Mills, David Free, Dakota Free and James Vanhoose. Honorary pallbearers will be Daniel Crook, Danny David, II and Marshall David.
