Wanda Duren Fenn

Wanda Duren Fenn, age 90, passed away on Friday, January 10, 2025. A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, January 16, 2025, at 2 pm in the Chapel of Centuries Memorial Funeral Home in Shreveport, LA. Visitation will start at 1 pm.

Wanda was born May 6, 1934, in Natchitoches Parish to Emmett and Iona Duren. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, A.J. Fenn; sister, Mavis Duren Nagin; brothers, J.C. Duren, Thomas Duren, R.L. Duren and Billy Troy Duren. She is survived by her son, Rodney Fenn and wife Agnes; daughter, Denise Birdwell; 1 granddaughter; 3 grandsons; and sister, Georgia Duren Mathews.

Wanda graduated from Natchitoches High School and immediately went to work at South Central Bell as a switchboard operator. She worked her entire adult life, retiring from South Central Bell, and then working as a switchboard operator for Christus Hospital in Shreveport. She loved work, and she loved the people she worked with. She also loved the Lord and was a faithful member of Mission Point Baptist Church in Stonewall, La. She never failed to say "I love you" after every conversation with you. She enjoyed working in her flower beds and is remembered for her great sense of humor and impeccable beauty routine.

Honoring Wanda as pallbearers will be Rusty Mathews, Brad Mathews, Jeremy Mathews and Braeden Mathews.
