W. M. deGraffenreid, Jr., passed away peacefully at Carpenter House June 18, 2021. He was born October 13, 1937 in Shreveport, La., the son of W. M. deGraffenreid, Sr., and May M. deGraffenreid. He graduated from Byrd High School in 1955 and attended La. Tech in Ruston, La
He worked in sales of auto parts and salvage for 45 years. He was an ardent fan of the Dallas Cowboys and the New Orleans Saints, in that order. The LSU Tigers were a favorite through thick and thin. Bill enjoyed traveling, playing any kind of cards, reading a good mystery, dominoes, and going to movies and new places to
eat. In addition to his mother May, and his father, W.M., he is preceded in death by his daughter, Susan Hines
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Eleanor, son Alan B.deGraffenreid and wife Susan, grandchildren, Christopher Nunez, Rachel deGraffenreid, and Garrett deGraffenreid. Bill’s family would like to express special thanks to Tender Loving Care caregivers, and to the Carpenter House for their help through Bill’s journey.
